Colombia Villa Pastora
Villa Pastora farm, located in Palestina, Huila, was acquired in the 1980s by Mrs. Pastora Anacona, the paternal grandmother of Gerson Mora. She began the farm’s coffee tradition by planting the first coffee trees, and since then, the Mora Ortega family has carried on the passion for coffee, now in its third generation of coffee growers.
With 20,000 coffee plants spanning varieties like Caturra, Tabí, and Bourbon Rosado, Gerson's dedication to quality is evident in every harvest. The farm, named after its founder, symbolizes the hard work and commitment of the family, who have focused on producing unique, high-quality coffees. Álvaro Mora, Gerson’s father, has been instrumental in preserving and expanding this legacy. Villa Pastora is also a tribute to Álvaro’s mother, who first planted the seeds that would grow into a thriving coffee business.
Run as a family operation, Villa Pastora prioritizes sustainability and product quality. Álvaro is deeply committed to earning recognition from consumers for the care and passion that go into every cup of coffee. Beyond being a coffee farm, Villa Pastora serves as a hub of community support. The farm employs about eight locals and offers fermentation advice and drying services to other coffee growers who lack the necessary infrastructure.
